To use latex on a client you will need to complete a patch test on the inside of the arm before applying the product to the face. If irritation occurs you can use other products to create wrinkled skin, like eyelash glue. Note that latex will leave a marks after being used, therefore it is best to protect the skin using dermashield which creates a barrier against the latex. To use the latex, open the bottle and allow to hair for a few minutes. Pour into a separate bowl and shut the bottle to prevent the latex drying up.
- Gown the model to prevent any latex dripping onto clothes.
- Pull the area of skin taut and apply the latex using a sponge.
- Dry the latex with a cool hairdryer keeping the skin taut at all times. Make sure to test the hairdryer on yourself first.
- Once dry take away your fingers to see if the latex has created the desired wrinkled effect.
- If not, repeat creating layers until the latex wrinkles.
- Make sure your client keeps eyes and mouth closed at ALL times whilst using latex.
